I cannot believe how fast this month has gone. It’s a bit crazy to think that it’s almost December and I haven’t even made a dent on my Christmas shopping yet. If you’re in the same boat as me then maybe some of my November favourites will inspire your Christmas shopping this year. This month contains a few new purchases from November plus a few that I have currently rediscovered my love for!
Every beauty guru and their mother has raved on about this palette. Like every girl, I immediately fell in love with it and searched for it online. As expected, this palette was sold-out on every possible website. It was only this month that Cult-Beauty finally had them back in stock and I was able to get my hands on one. It only took me a year but hey, better late than never.
This palette has every single warm toned eyeshadow that I could possibly ever want. These shadows are pigmented but in contrast to my makeup geek (MUG) shadows (my absolute ride or die eyeshadows), they aren’t as pigmented or as buttery. Although this palette does fall short against MUG, for the price and shade range you can’t go wrong with this purchase. You get a great selection and an endless amount of looks which you can create.
This powder is unlike any other that I’ve tried. I’ve been using this to set my whole face and it adds the prettiest glow without looking like I’ve put highlighter all over my face. It has a sheer coverage and that’s exactly the kind of face powder that I tend to go for. I like to set my face with powder but hate the cakey feeling that you can get with some. In contrast this is finely milled, which makes it great for setting the whole face.
This is another product that is well-loved by many beauty gurus on YouTube and I finally understand the hype. I mainly use concealer for my under eyes and have always stayed loyal to my MAC Pro-longwear concealer (NC30) until now.
The naked skin concealer gives great coverage and is so moisturising compared to the pro-longwear concealer. I work very long hours and this concealer doesn’t budge when I set it with my RCMA no-colour powder. The product is creamy but not too thick and doesn’t crease even on days when I haven’t set my under eyes with powder. I bought this in the shade light-neutral and the peachy undertone is perfect for cancelling out any darkness that I have.
As I mentioned previously, I work long hours. As much as I would set my face, I would still look like a greasy mess by the end of the day. I have oily combination skin (oily in the t-zone and normal skin everywhere else) and I’ve tried everything from matte primers to translucent matte powders but they just wouldn’t work. However this product has literally changed my makeup game. After completing my makeup I normally spray about 2-3 pumps of this all over my face and I’m pretty much good to go for the day. It does exactly what it says on the bottle and now I feel like I cannot leave the house without it.
This shade. I can’t even express my love for this colour. Over the past month Icon has become my new perfect pink shade. I’d describe it as a deep pink with a slight red undertone. I tend to go for the typical pink/ brown nudes so I thought I would try something different. The formula lasts for a good few hours but not as long as a Jeffree Star or a Dose of Colors liquid lipstick. However on the positive side the colour does fade evenly after a meal. They are not as drying as other liquid lipsticks which is definitely a plus. Also the coconut like scent was something which I thought was quite different but depending on your preference, this could be a complete turn off.
I’m not the biggest fan of Benefit but I’ve heard great things about the Hoola bronzer and it seems to be everyone’s “holy grail” bronzer. After finally taking the plunge, I can see why it is very popular. Although it’s not my favourite bronzer it has taken it’s place in my collection as a great everyday bronzer. On my skin tone it’s not too orange and definitely adds a nice warmth to my complexion.
This face oil has done wonders for me especially seeing as it’s been really cold recently. In the winter my face gets dehydrated so at night I have to moisturise well. I go to bed with a thin layer of this on my face and when I wake up it feels unbelievably soft. It also absorbs quickly and feels really luxurious on the skin. If you’re not familiar with facial oils, I put it on after my toner and before my moisturiser. Although it’s quite pricey, the oil isn’t restricted to just being used on your face. Kiehl’s have also recommended a few alternative uses:
- Adding a few drops to your hand cream for extremely dry hands
- Using it on cracked heels and dry elbows
- Adding a few drops to your bath
- Massaging it on the temples of your head to relieve any headaches
My absolute favourite highlighter! This highlighter ticks all of the boxes for me, it has great pigmentation and is the perfect shade for my skin tone. It’s a beautiful golden shade with a peach shift. The powders themselves are so smooth and finely milled that they apply to the skin like butter. This highlighter also has an amazing metallic glow that you can see from a mile away but with a soft hand you can also get a really lovely subtle glow.
I hope you’ve all had a good weekend and I’ll see you all in next weeks post!
