Hey my lovelies,
This is probably my most highly awaited blog post. Thanks to my Instagram posts/story, I decided to keep you all in suspense. I was receiving messages (I never knew how impatient some of you were!) from people asking me to reveal my purchases from Tuesdays spontaneous shopping trip to Harrods. Of course I haven’t been able to because of well…life! I’m a working girl okay? My Chanel doesn’t just appear in my lap.
Initially I was only going to get 1 thing and be good. However with the foreseeable price increase just around the corner, I couldn’t turn my back away from these two pieces.
I left the store both poor and tipsy from the champagne, which my lovely new SA brought out for the mother and I. I’m a great believer in NEVER turning down free champagne, plus it made paying just that little bit easier. I’m not going to lie, for a second I thought I was going to pass out from the total price but the champagne definitely softened the blow of that much money leaving my account.
I’m sure I could easily write this introduction in another language and no one would even notice. I’m about 99% sure that you will all scroll straight down to the bottom just to see what I got. Because of that I thought I’d keep this introduction short and sweet.
So without further ado, enjoy….
So did anyone guess right?
I’ve been dying to get my hands on a card holder for months now. I had my eye set on the YSL chevron one but when I saw that there was only a £100 difference between the two, I couldn’t justify not going with the classic Chanel one in the caviar leather. Chanel is Chanel. You may as well going with the best if you’re spending that much (mum taught me well). Plus I couldn’t resist the gold hardware. God knows I’m a sucker for the gold hardware and caviar leather combo.
My new baby…the Chanel CC Filigree vanity case bag. Isn’t she beautiful? Some might say it looks like a lunch box. When purchasing it, my dad jokingly asked me over the phone to see whether I could fit a sandwich inside (men!). When I first saw this bag last year as part of Chanel’s spring/summer 2016 collection, I fell in love! They sold out quickly and it soon became a bag that was difficult to find. Fast-forward to January 2017 and never in my dreams did I think Chanel would be bringing them back! Naturally I was like a woman possessed and I was not going to stop until I tracked one down. With Instagram being a great source, I saw that they had a few in Harrods.
At Harrods they only had the classic coloured vanity case in small (left) (6.3’x 8.3′ x 3.3′ inches) and medium (right) (6.7’x 9.4′ x 3.9′ inches). I tried both on and ultimately went with the small as I felt the medium was too big and a hassle to open.
Just to bare in mind if you’re thinking of purchasing one, the medium bag has a detachable mirror inside whereas the small bag does not. One thing to also consider is that you cannot wear this bag (in either size) as a cross body bag, only as a hand or shoulder bag. However this definitely didn’t deter me away.
If you’re thinking that you’re too late to purchase one of these vanity cases, you’re in luck because Chanel have included the CC Filigree vanity case bag in a variety of colours for the upcoming collection. As this piece is pretty hard to find, I’d recommend purchasing it then and there if you 1) have the funds and 2) really want the bag. Most likely it won’t be there again when you go back!
Will you be adding the Chanel CC Filigree vanity case bag to your collection? Does anyone else think that they should make this style permanent like they did with the Boy bags? Let me know what you think!
Until next time,
