La Vie en Rose

Who said looking at life through rose-coloured glasses was a bad thing?

Well when they’re Fendi, I think we can make the exception just this once…

There’s something so beautifully unique about Fendi sunglasses that I’ve been lusting after them for a few weeks. Their current styles have a very feline-esque inspired theme throughout their styles, making them very feminine and perfect for making a statement. Initially I was drawn to the Fendi Iridia style sunglasses in the rose-gold:

…but as beautiful as they are, the Fendi Eyeshine sunglasses stole the show. If you’re not familiar with them, let’s take a moment to bring you up to speed:

Pink is definitely a colour that I’ve been seeing a lot of this season and probably will continue to see throughout the spring. It’s not exactly a colour that I wear often nor is it my first choice. It’s not that I have anything against the colour but it’s hard to step away from my natural tendency to gravitate towards my safe colours (black, brown, blue, grey and red). We all do it so I know how hard it is to break out of that vicious cycle. Well why would you? They say:

Why fix something that’s not broken?

As true as that may be, this year is all about pushing the boundaries and being more adventurous with my style.

So when I saw these Fendi Eyeshine sunglasses I fell completely in LOVE with the style. After trying on many different colours, I went with the rose-gold pair.

I was slightly hesitant to purchase a pair of sunglasses, especially with the unpredictable weather here in London. As over the top as I can be at times, wearing sunglasses when there’s no sun is something that I’ve never been able to do without feeling like a complete idiot. Yes, I’m ashamedly one of those people who will make a comment at a girl for wearing them in the winter! Deep down it’s probably my lack of confidence in being able to do the same…

After numerous visits to every Fendi store in London and annoying every Fendi SA that I came across, I made the purchase. These sunglasses are big step out of my comfort zone and probably a love or hate kind of accessory.

At first I thought that I’d look like an absolute dumb ass with them on but the more I tried them, the more I looked past the judgement of what people might think about them. The shape and style are completely unique from my very small collection of sunglasses so I wanted something different. These glasses definitely make a statement and will no doubt, stand out against the crowd. Fitting in is so over-rated these days. I adore how these are a nice change from your basic-b*tch sunglasses…the classic RayBan aviator or Wayfarer sunglasses. I even have 2 pairs (yes, I went there and said it, you were thinking it too!).

So in the words of Katy Perry:

Put your rose-coloured glasses on and party on…”

I love the cat-eye shape and of course the colour. I’m a complete sucker for rose-gold anything and these had my name written all over them. I thought this would be a nice yet subtle way to incorporate pink into my spring/summer looks in a quirky way. The Eyeshine sunglasses definitely have a very retro style to them thanks to the thin baby pink rim around the frame, which I think is a nice attention to detail.

Purchasing these sunglasses has definitely made me so excited for the summer that I’m already thinking of outfits to complement these! I’m sure that they will be completely overused during the spring/summer season so I’ll apologise now if you see them in a lot of my future posts!

See you in my next post my lovelies.

Lots of love,

I’ve included the link for the exact Fendi Eyeshade sunglasses as well as some similar rose coloured sunglasses!
