Playsuits in autumn? As odd as it sounds, it’s something that I’m crazy enough to wear. Whether I can pull it off is another story but we’ll move on from that…
You might be thinking that playsuits are a summer essential but why not bring them into autumn?
Apart from the fact that playsuits are an absolute bitch to get in and out of when using the toilet (or worse yet, when you’re drunk and you need the toilet), they’re always a piece that I can rely on for a great outfit. With playsuits you don’t really need to think too hard because the majority of the work is already done for you. All you need are the right accessories, shoes and BAM, you’re done.
What more could you want?
My top tip for transitioning playsuits into the colder months is pretty simple…Suede knee-high boots. I’ve said it time and time again, knee-high boots or over the knee boots are a staple in my autumn and winter wardrobe. They’re completely versatile and in my opinion will literally go with everything in your wardrobe.
I’m already predicting your reluctance with this styling combination. I know what you’re thinking…
Rhea, I’ll freeze to death in this weather!
I can’t promise that you won’t and you might just but…Let’s be real, that’s what coats were made for! There are ways around these things so stop making excuses for yourself. With party season just around the corner, you’re going to want something warm but also a little more sultry without looking slutty. You’re not going to be warm in your playsuit because that’s already a given so that’s where the boots come in.
If you’re anything like me and constantly on the verge of freezing your ass off from borderline hypothermia, throw on a pair of neutral tights and you’re good to go (well as good as you’ll ever be).
There’s no time like the present so as we’re on the cusp of entering winter, you may as well embrace the last few weeks of the somewhat relatively “warm” weather that we have left. If you’re lucky you could even go bare legged but at your own discretion of course!
Florals for Fall
Playsuits I love but floral playsuits…I absolutely die for!
Regardless of what season it is, I’m the kind of girl who will wear floral prints all year round. Why? It fits my style in the sense that it’s girly and well I just love it. For me, the more floral the better! Some would argue that floral prints can look out dated and boring, which I can completely agree with because without the right styling you will most likely look like an ugly floral couch (sorry to break it to you).
With that in mind, I always knew that I’d find a way to incorporate florals in the cooler months. I guess finding the right colours is the key to transitioning florals into the autumn and winter. Unless you’re feeling brave it’s probably best to stay away from the brightly coloured florals. Instead go for the darker or neutral toned floral prints.
Will you be wearing playsuits and knee high boots this season?
Be a little bold and different…You know you want to!
Lots of love,
